CREW Youth Mentoring Program

Our Mission
CREW is committed to empowering youth to be courageous and resilient through adult mentoring support that promotes a child’s total well being. Founded in 2018 to provide support for Mark West/Larkfield area children who were affected by the 2017 Tubbs fire, CREW was established in Petaluma to support the students at Wilson Elementary School in 2022.

Our Impact
Mentoring, at its core, guarantees young people that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter. Research confirms that quality mentoring relationships have powerful positive effects on young people in a variety of personal, academic, and professional situations. Ultimately, mentoring connects a young person to personal growth and development, and social and economic opportunity.

Our Programs
CREW utilizes both the traditional one to one mentoring model and weekly group mentoring sessions to empower youth to be courageous and resilient while also promoting their total well-being.

Become a Mentor
One hour per week is all it takes to make a positive impact in the life of a child. If you, or someone you know, is interested in becoming a mentor, please email Fidaa Shaheen at fshaheen@wilmarusd.org
