PTA is asking for your support!
Dear Wilson Families,
As we begin a new school year at Wilson we are once again faced with state budget cuts that take valuable programs and funds away from our children's learning experience.
In the past PTA and volunteers have put in countless hours creating and putting on fundraisers to help raise funds for our school PTA funds are used to enrich our classrooms and improve school grounds and facilities. Unfortunately, these areas have lost substantial state funding which also helps our schools. PTA funds also provide our school with student fieldtrips, assemblies, trip to the State Capitol, awards and scholarships, homework folders and planners, monthly WOW lunch, Gifts from the Heart, teacher supply grants, staff appreciation lunch, and many other items throughout the year. Our children and our school will need your support this year. Many schools in the area have adopted an idea that will help raise funds for schools and limit the individual fundraisers to a select few. The PTA would like to start a new program for Wilson called. . .
"REDUCE TO CREATE MORE"
This means that we give money directly to the school, so our school receives 100% of our contribution, not a percentage of the profit as with fundraisers. There will be less costly fundraisers, less soliciting to friends/family, less time collecting orders. What limited fundraisers we do will be optional.
Our goal is for each family to contribute $100 per child for the year 2009-2010 or what you feel comfortable with. In addition this contribution if fully tax deductible (other fundraisers are not). Please see the contribution form on the backside.
PTA is looking forward to the success of this program which will directly benefit our children 100% and allow us to focus on coming together for social events like the Back to School Dinner, Movie Night and our future Family Picnic. Our "REDUCE TO CREATE MORE" program will ultimately save time and put more of your contribution directly into the Wilson classrooms.
